Bill of Quantity – Estimator – Commercial Interiors Experience Required: 6+ Years Location: Bangalore Job Type: Full time Industry: Commercial Interior Fit-outs / Architecture & Construction / Turnkey Fit-Outs Job Overview: *Handle cost control. *If the client changes a design mid-project, the BOQ Engineer calculates the cost difference and gets approval for the extra work. *Coordination with the Procurement team regarding material price changes. *Drawing Interpretation: Analysing 2D AutoCAD and 3D drawings to extract exact measurements for every item *Itemization: Breaking down the design into specific line items e.g. Civil Work, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and Finishing. *Ensuring every material is accounted for to prevent under-ordering or budget overruns later. *Regularly checking current market prices for materials like plywood, paint,



hardware and labour rates to ensure the BOQ is realistic. *Calculating "Unit Rates" that include the cost of materials, labour, transport, wastage, and the company's profit margin. *Writing detailed technical descriptions for each item so there is no confusion on quality. *At the end of the project, reconciling the initial BOQ with the final as-built" measurements to settle all bills. *If a project is over the client's budget, the BOQ Engineer suggests alternative materials or methods that achieve a similar look for less money. *If a project is over the client's budget, the BOQ Engineer suggests alternative materials or methods that achieve a similar look for less money.
