PRODUCTION MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Production
Reporting To: Plant Head / Operations Head
Experience: 5 to 10 Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. Mechanical / Production

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and achieve daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
- Ensure production as per quality, cost and delivery requirements.
- Manage manpower, shift planning and operator productivity.
- Monitor OEE, machine utilisation, downtime and production efficiency.
- Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase and Dispatch.
- Reduce rejection, rework, scrap, downtime and production losses.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, process parameters, 5S and safety standards.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement Kaizen / productivity improvement initiatives.
- Develop supervisors and operators through training and multi-skilling.
- Conduct daily production reviews and ensure timely closure of action points.
- Maintain proper production records and KPI reports.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost and shop-floor discipline.
