Role & responsibilities

- Process UI claims, protests, and appeals in compliance with company policies and state regulations
- Collaborate with field operations and recruiters to gather necessary documentation for claims defense
- Investigate claim validity, gather necessary documentation, and respond to state UI agencies
- Ensure responses comply with state-specific unemployment laws and employer guidelines
- Prepare protest letters and appeals for disputed claims
- Track and report claim trends, identifying opportunities to reduce UI costs and improve processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UI laws, regulatory changes, and best practices
- Identify fraudulent or incorrect claims and escalate as needed
- Maintain organized and detailed records of all claims, appeals, and determinations for audits and reporting
- Work closely with HR, payroll, and compliance teams to ensure accurate claim handling
- Partner with legal and risk management teams to support UI hearings and complex claims
- Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate job separation documentation
- Support internal training efforts related to UI claims and best practices
