Hiring: Urban Designer / Urban Planner — Contractual Role

We are seeking a hands-on Urban Designer / Urban Planner to help develop a 1.5 km² city map for Eminatti, a realistic urban simulation game.

You will translate our map references, existing architectural assets and creative direction into a technically coherent urban layout that our 3D environment team can implement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the masterplan, including road networks, intersections, blocks, plot subdivisions, commercial areas, residential neighbourhoods and open spaces.
• Coordinate terrain with development, resolving contours, elevation changes, road gradients, plot levels and retaining edges.
• Define road widths, street sections, pedestrian connections and vehicle access.
• Integrate existing buildings into suitable plots with realistic setbacks, entrances, parking and service access.
• Create believable urban character through varied density, irregular development patterns and thoughtful relationships between buildings, streets and landscape.

• Collaborate with our environment team to review scale, circulation and practical implementation.

Required skills and experience

• Background in urban design, urban planning, architecture or landscape architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in physical planning, masterplanning and site design.
• Robust understanding of topography, road geometry and the relationship between terrain and built form.
• Ability to produce dimensioned plans, sections, elevation studies and basic 3D blockouts.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent, alongside SketchUp, Rhino, Blender or another suitable 3D tool. GIS experience is an advantage.
• Ability to deliver organised, editable files and communicate design decisions clearly.

Expected outputs

A dimensioned masterplan, coordinated terrain and road framework, plot layouts, critical sections and profiles, and an editable 3D blockout with a clear implementation handover.
