The DGM/GM Procurement is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall management of the procurement function at the Factory, Kadapa. Andhra Pradesh. The role ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, consumables, capital equipment, spare parts, and services while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and ethical business practices. The incumbent will develop sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, optimize procurement costs, mitigate supply chain risks, and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement

- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the organization's business objectives.
- Prepare annual procurement plans and budgets in coordination with production, projects, maintenance, and finance teams.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering without compromising quality.

Sourcing & Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, develop, and onboard reliable suppliers.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and periodic vendor audits.
- Develop alternate sources to minimize supply risks.

Procurement Operations

- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, consumables, spares, capital equipment, and services.
- Monitor procurement schedules to support uninterrupted production.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, delegation of authority, and approval processes.

Commercial Negotiation

- Lead commercial negotiations for major procurement contracts.
- Finalize pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and service agreements.
- Execute long-term rate contracts and framework agreements where appropriate.





Cost Management

- Drive annual procurement cost reduction initiatives.
- Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain dynamics.
- Conduct spend analysis and identify opportunities for procurement optimization.

Contract Management

- Review and manage procurement contracts in coordination with the legal department.
- Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled by suppliers.
- Resolve commercial disputes effectively.

Inventory Optimization

- Work closely with stores and production teams to maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
- Improve inventory turnover while ensuring material availability

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, and ethical procurement practices.
- Maintain complete procurement documentation and audit readiness.
- Ensure adherence to ISO and other applicable quality management systems.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Projects, Quality, Finance, Logistics, and Stores departments.
- Support current product development and expansion projects through timely procurement.

Team Leadership & Risk Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.
- Establish performance objectives and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Identify procurement and supply chain risks.
- Develop contingency plans for critical materials.
- Ensure business continuity through supplier diversification.
