JOB DESCRIPTION ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Project: Jio Data Centre Kochi & Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala

Position: Electrical Engineer
Required Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Mandatory License: Kerala State Electrical Supervisory License – Grade A or Grade B
Work Location: Kochi and Calicut, Kerala

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to manage electrical operations, maintenance, installation, testing, and commissioning activities at Jio Data Centre facilities in Kochi and Calicut. Candidates must possess a valid Kerala State Electrical Supervisory License, Grade A or Grade B, and have a robust understanding of electrical safety standards, power distribution systems, and critical infrastructure maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise electrical installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Monitor and maintain HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, and distribution panels.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of UPS systems, DG sets, batteries, and critical power supply systems.
- Monitor electrical power distribution, earthing systems, and lightning protection systems.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure uninterrupted power supply to data centre operations.
- Coordinate electrical testing, inspection, commissioning, and statutory compliance activities.
- Ensure compliance with Kerala State Electrical Inspectorate requirements and applicable electrical safety regulations.




- Maintain electrical drawings, equipment records, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate with facility management teams, contractors, vendors, and other technical departments.
- Identify electrical faults, implement corrective measures, and support emergency response activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and PPE requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Valid Kerala State Electrical Supervisory License – Grade A or Grade B (mandatory).
- Relevant experience in electrical maintenance, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, or data centres preferred.
- Knowledge of HT/LT systems, UPS, DG sets, transformers, switchgear, and electrical protection systems.
- Good troubleshooting, documentation, coordination, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work at Kochi or Calicut and attend shift duties or emergency call-outs as required.

Preferred Experience

- Data centre electrical operations and maintenance.
- Critical power infrastructure and redundant power systems.
- Preventive maintenance planning and breakdown management.
- Electrical safety audits and statutory inspections.
