Job Description – CMT Drayage Executive

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented CMT Drayage Executive to manage carrier coordination and support day-to-day drayage operations within the US logistics and freight brokerage industry. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of drayage operations, ports, rail ramps, container movements, and carrier management.

Key Responsibilities

· Coordinate with drayage carriers, drivers, dispatchers, and customers for smooth movement of containers.

· Arrange and manage container pickups and deliveries from ports, rail ramps, terminals, and warehouses.

· Track shipments and provide timely updates on container/load status.

· Coordinate port and terminal appointments and ensure timely pickup and delivery.

· Source and assign suitable carriers based on lane, equipment, availability, and operational requirements.

· Negotiate carrier rates while maintaining operational efficiency and profitability.

· Monitor container availability, chassis availability, free time, detention, and demurrage.

· Follow up with drivers and carriers to ensure shipments are delivered within the required timeline.

· Resolve operational issues related to terminal delays, appointment issues, chassis shortages, container holds, and access restrictions.

· Maintain strong working relationships with carriers and ensure consistent service quality.





· Update and maintain accurate shipment, carrier, and operational records.

· Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of drayage loads.

· Escalate critical operational issues to the concerned management team when required.

· Ensure compliance with company processes, customer requirements, and operational standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Minimum 6 months–2 years of experience in US Logistics, Drayage, Freight Brokerage, or Carrier Management.

· Good understanding of US Drayage operations and container transportation.

· Knowledge of ports, rail ramps, terminals, chassis, container numbers, appointments, detention, and demurrage.

· Solid communication and negotiation skills.

· Ability to coordinate effectively with carriers, drivers, dispatchers, and customers.

· Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

· Good knowledge of MS Office/Excel and logistics software.

· Willingness to work in US shifts.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in Drayage, Port-to-Door, Port-to-Rail, Rail-to-Door, container transportation, or US Freight Brokerage will be preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
