Job Description – CSSD Technician

Department: Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD)
Designation: CSSD Technician
Location: Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai
Reports To: Operation Theatre Incharge

1. Job Summary

The CSSD Technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, packing, sterilizing, storing, and distributing medical instruments and equipment to ensure protected patient care and infection prevention throughout the hospital.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Receive used surgical instruments, medical devices, and equipment from OT, ICU, wards, and other clinical departments.
- Perform cleaning and decontamination of instruments using approved procedures.
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and other sterilizers as per hospital protocols.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, damage, and proper functioning before packing.
- Assemble and pack instrument sets, trays,



and surgical kits according to departmental requirements.
- Monitor and record sterilization cycles, temperature, pressure, and other required parameters.
- Maintain proper documentation, sterilization records, and traceability of instrument batches.
- Ensure proper storage and distribution of sterile items while maintaining sterility.
- Follow infection control practices, biomedical waste management guidelines, and hospital safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the CSSD, including separate dirty,

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
