Job Description: Lab Assistant

St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh

Key Responsibilities

- Assist teachers in conducting practical classes and laboratory experiments.
- Prepare and arrange laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials before practical sessions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, stock registers, and records of chemicals and consumables.
- Ensure cleanliness, proper storage, and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Follow laboratory safety rules and ensure the safe handling and disposal of chemicals and other materials.
- Check equipment regularly and report damaged or faulty items to the concerned teacher or administration.
- Assist in maintaining practical files, laboratory records, and inventory.
- Ensure that students follow laboratory rules and safety precautions during practical sessions.




- Support teachers during practical examinations and other laboratory activities.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal or school management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Minimum qualification: 10+2 in Science; a relevant diploma or degree will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, materials, and safety procedures.
- Positive organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Responsible, punctual, and capable of maintaining records accurately.
- Prior experience in a school laboratory will be preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
