Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced On-Premise Data Lake / Microsoft SQL Server Expert with solid hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise, High Availability (HA), SSIS, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and MS SQL Cube deployment.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in on-premise data platform installation, configuration, deployment, administration, and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of data warehouse concepts including Facts, Dimensions, and Measures.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise

- Perform installation, configuration, patching, and administration of Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition in on-premise environments.
- Configure SQL Server instances, databases, security, storage, memory, CPU, and performance-related settings.
- Configure and manage database maintenance, backups, restores, and recovery processes.
- Troubleshoot SQL Server performance, connectivity, configuration, and operational issues.
- Ensure SQL Server environments follow enterprise security, availability, and operational standards.

High Availability (HA)

- Hands-on experience configuring and managing SQL Server High Availability solutions.
- Experience with Always On Availability Groups and related HA configurations.
- Configure availability replicas, failover modes, listeners, synchronization, and health monitoring.
- Perform failover/failback activities and troubleshoot HA synchronization and connectivity issues.
- Participate in HA/DR design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.

SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

- Install, configure, and administer SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) in an on-premise environment.
- Deploy and manage SSIS packages and projects across development, testing, and production environments.
- Configure SSIS Catalog (SSISDB), environments, parameters, and execution configurations.
- Troubleshoot SSIS package failures, data integration issues, and job execution problems.
- Work with SQL Server Agent for scheduling and monitoring ETL processes.

SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

- Install, configure, and administer SQL Server Analysis Services.
- Experience with SSAS Tabular and/or Multidimensional models.
- Configure data sources,



data source views, models, partitions, processing, and security.
- Monitor and troubleshoot SSAS performance and processing issues.
- Manage deployment and migration of analytical models across environments.

MS SQL Cube Deployment

- Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, processing, and maintaining MS SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Cubes.
- Deploy multidimensional cubes and associated database objects across environments.
- Configure dimensions, hierarchies, attributes, measures, measure groups, and aggregations.
- Perform cube processing and troubleshoot deployment and processing failures.
- Optimize cube performance through appropriate partitioning, aggregations, and processing strategies.

Data Warehouse – Facts, Dimensions & Measures

- Strong understanding of Data Warehouse and OLAP concepts.
- Experience in designing and deploying:
- Fact tables
- Dimension tables
- Measures and Measure Groups
- Hierarchies and attributes
- Star and Snowflake schemas
- Ensure proper relationships between Facts and Dimensions for analytical reporting.
- Define and implement business measures and KPIs within analytical models.
- Work closely with BI, ETL, and data engineering teams to ensure data models meet reporting and analytical requirements.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition.
- Experience with SQL Server installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server HA / Always On Availability Groups.
- Hands-on experience with SSIS installation, configuration, and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
- Experience deploying and managing MS SQL/SSAS Cubes.
- Strong understanding of Facts, Dimensions, Measures, Hierarchies, and OLAP.
- Good understanding of Data Warehouse architecture and ETL processes.
- Experience with SQL Server Agent, jobs, scheduling, monitoring,



and troubleshooting.
- Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience working in enterprise on-premise data platform environments.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with SQL Server backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and migration.
- Experience with SQL Server performance tuning and monitoring.
- Knowledge of Windows Server administration and enterprise infrastructure.
- Experience with production deployments and environment management across DEV/TEST/UAT/PROD.
- Knowledge of data security, authentication, authorization, and role-based access.
- Experience working with large-volume enterprise data warehouses and analytical workloads.
- Familiarity with BI/reporting platforms such as Power BI, SSRS, or similar tools is an advantage.

Experience

- 5+ years of overall experience in SQL Server/Data Warehousing/Data Engineering.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise on-premise SQL Server environments.
- Strong production experience in SQL Server HA, SSIS, SSAS, and Cube deployment.
- Experience working with large-scale data warehouse implementations is preferred.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant Microsoft SQL Server certifications are an advantage.
