Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design activities for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), industrial automation equipment, and customized machinery. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in electrical schematics, control panel design, component selection, machine wiring, and coordination with PLC, mechanical design, and production teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Lead electrical design and development for SPMs, industrial automation systems, and customized machinery.
- Prepare electrical schematics, power and control circuit diagrams, panel layout drawings, and machine wiring diagrams.
- Develop electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent electrical CAD software.
- Select and size electrical components, including MCBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, SMPS, VFDs, servo drives, motors, and safety devices.
- Design PLC I/O interfaces, sensor connections, actuator wiring, and industrial control circuits.
- Prepare BOMs, cable schedules, terminal plans, and complete electrical documentation.
- Review electrical designs for safety, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Coordinate with mechanical design, PLC programming, manufacturing, and assembly teams throughout project execution.
- Guide electrical technicians and engineers during panel building, machine wiring, testing, and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot electrical design issues and implement engineering modifications.
- Support FAT, SAT, Machine commissioning, and customer technical discussions when required.
- Manage multiple projects, ensure timely drawing release,



and maintain design documentation.

Preferred Technical Skills

- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent electrical design tools.
- Strong expertise in industrial electrical design and control panel engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of PLC systems, I/O wiring, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, motors, and industrial safety circuits.
- Experience in electrical component selection, load calculations, cable sizing, and circuit protection.
- Strong understanding of machine wiring, panel layouts, grounding, and electrical safety.
- Knowledge of BOM preparation, terminal plans, cable schedules, and engineering documentation.
- Experience in SPM design, machine automation, robotics, or customized industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with IEC standards and applicable industrial electrical safety requirements.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) or a related discipline.
- 7–15 years of relevant experience in electrical design, control panel engineering, SPMs, or industrial automation.
- Proven experience in designing electrical systems for machines or automation projects.
- Ability to independently handle electrical design activities from concept to commissioning.
- Experience in design reviews, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project execution skills.
