Factory Manager - Production

Why this role exists

One person owns whether product goes out of the door — on time, at the right quality, at the

right cost. That is this role, and now it is only this role. The analytical and process-

improvement burden has been moved to a dedicated partner so that you can run the floor.

What you will own

Delivery

- Own the production plan against the order book. Sequence, schedule, and load the

floor across all stages.

- Hold on time delivery as your primary metric. Where a date is at risk, escalate early

with a recovery plan rather than late with an explanation.

Manage work-in-progress levels and flow between departments so that orders do not

stall in queues.

Quality

- Own quality at source across every stage, with the QC function enforcing rather than

rescuing.

- Drive down rework and rejection. Where a defect recurs, involve the Manufacturing

Excellence lead to find the systemic cause rather than reworking indefinitely.

Ensure finished product meets customer specification first time.

People

- Lead, staff, and develop the floor: department heads, supervisors, karigars, and

c o n t r a c t labour.

- Manpower planning against the order pipeline, including seasonal peaks. Skill

mapping and cross-training so that the unit is not hostage to individuals.

- Enforce attendance, discipline, and shift performance.

C o s t a n d m a t e r i a l c o n t r o l

- Control metal and stone loss at every stage against defined tolerances. Investigate

variances immediately.

- Manage consumables, tooling,



and labour cost per piece.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and full reconciliation between stores, floor, and the ERP.

Compliance and safety

- Maintain safety standards, statutory compliance, and audit readiness — including any

c u s t o m e r or certification audits.

- Uphold security protocols appropriate to a high-value goods setting.

Key metrics

On-time delivery percentage units and value shipped against plan rejection and rework

rate metal and diamond loss against tolerance WIP ageing labour cost per piece

manpower attrition and attendance

Who we are looking for

- 10-18 years in jewellery manufacturing, with at least 4 in a plant, unit, or factory

management role.

- Hands-on across the full process - casting, filing and assembly, setting, polishing,

plating, and finishing. You should be able to tell a supervisor exactly why a batch is

failing.

- Proven track record running a unit against firm delivery commitments for demanding

customers, ideally export.

- Strong people manager. Able to hold a large, experienced, and sometimes resistant

floor to standard.

- Comfortable working with an ERP and with data - you will receive weekly analysis

from the Manufacturing Excellence lead and be expected to act on it.

- Open to being measured and challenged on the numbers. Candidates who prefer to

run on instinct alone will not succeed in this structure.

- Surat, Mumbai, or Jaipur manufacturing background. Fluent Gujarati and Hindi.

Pay: ₹2,200,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
