We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer Intern to join our technology team and contribute to the development of a new production-grade web platform.
The role involves working across both frontend and backend development, with opportunities to contribute to architecture, databases, authentication, APIs, dashboards, deployment and overall product development.
You will work closely with the product team and have meaningful ownership over features from development through testing and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain modern web applications using Next.js, React and TypeScript
- Build frontend interfaces and responsive user experiences
- Develop backend functionality, APIs and server-side logic
- Design and manage relational databases
- Implement authentication, authorisation and role-based access controls
- Build dashboards, management systems and user workflows
- Integrate third-party services and APIs where required
- Implement file uploads and data management functionality
- Write clean, reusable and maintainable code
- Debug, test and optimise applications
- Work with Git and GitHub for version control
- Deploy and maintain applications in production environments
- Identify performance, reliability and security issues
- Participate in technical discussions and code reviews
- Collaborate with the product team to translate requirements into working features
Experience with the complete stack is not mandatory.
Strong fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly are highly valued.
RequirementsEducation
Applicants should meet one of the following:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, preferably in their 3rd or 4th year
- Recently completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Equivalent technical education combined with strong practical development experience may also be considered
Technical Requirements
- Robust understanding of JavaScript fundamentals
- Working knowledge of TypeScript
- Experience with React and/or Next.js
- Understanding of frontend and backend development
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with REST APIs
- Experience using Git and GitHub
- Understanding of software development fundamentals
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently
- Ability to write clean and maintainable code
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Supabase or Firebase
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience building full-stack applications
- Experience implementing authentication and authorisation
- Experience building dashboards or SaaS products
- Familiarity with Vercel
- Understanding of database security and Row Level Security
- Experience with testing frameworks
- Basic understanding of web application security
- Previous internship, freelance or real-world development experience
