1. Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and technically competent Mechanical Engineer to join our Shipbuilding / Ship Repair team. The candidate will support mechanical installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair activities related to marine machinery and equipment. The role involves coordinating with project managers, supervisors, technicians and other departments to ensure timely and quality execution of shipyard projects.

2. Roles and Responsibilities

- Assist in mechanical installation, maintenance and repair activities on ships and marine vessels.
- Support inspection, servicing and troubleshooting of marine engines, pumps, valves, piping systems, compressors and other mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate mechanical fabrication, fitting, alignment and assembly activities.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals, P&IDs; and technical specifications.
- Monitor daily site activities and ensure work is completed according to project schedules.
- Coordinate with fitters, welders, technicians, subcontractors and other project personnel.
- Conduct inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and client specifications.
- Monitor manpower deployment, material availability and equipment requirements.
- Prepare daily progress reports, work completion reports and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with shipyard safety procedures, permit-to-work systems and PPE requirements.
- Identify technical issues and escalate deviations,



delays and resource requirements to the Project Manager.
- Support testing, commissioning and sea-trial preparation activities, where applicable.
- Assist in maintaining tools, equipment and workplace housekeeping standards.

3. Required Technical Skills

- Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and marine machinery.
- Understanding of mechanical drawings, piping layouts and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, hydraulic systems, engines and industrial machinery.
- Knowledge of fabrication, fitting, alignment and maintenance procedures.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and technical reporting.
- Awareness of quality control, workplace safety and shipyard operations.

4. Eligibility Criteria

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Freshers and candidates with up to 4 years of relevant experience may apply.
- Shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering or heavy engineering experience will be an advantage.
- Willingness to work at shipyard locations and project sites.
- Good communication, teamwork, problem-solving and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under project deadlines and in a site-based workplace.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
