Free Ink Post is a growing digital-first news organisation committed to delivering timely, accurate and engaging journalism. We are looking for a skilled and creative Video Editor to join our newsroom and produce high-quality video content for our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Edit daily news bulletins, news reports, interviews and special coverage.
- Edit anchor-led news videos and reporter footage.
- Create engaging reels, YouTube Shorts and other short-form news videos.
- Add headlines, lower thirds, subtitles, graphics, transitions and appropriate audio.
- Maintain consistent Free Ink Post branding across all video content.
- Edit footage for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and the company website.
- Convert longer news videos into short, platform-specific clips.
- Coordinate with journalists, Hindi anchors, graphic designers and the social media team.
- Ensure factual accuracy, transparent audio, appropriate pacing and professional presentation.
- Manage video files, project folders and backups systematically.
- Meet daily newsroom deadlines and respond to urgent breaking-news assignments when required.
- Follow editorial standards and avoid misleading edits or unverified visual representations.

Skills and Qualifications





- Experience in professional video editing, preferably in news media or digital content production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Filmora.
- Knowledge of video formats, aspect ratios and platform-specific export settings.
- Ability to edit both horizontal news videos and vertical reels.
- Knowledge of audio cleanup, colour correction, subtitles and motion graphics.
- Understanding of digital storytelling and audience retention.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- A portfolio or showreel demonstrating previous editing work is required.
- A degree or diploma in video editing, filmmaking, Mass Communication or a related field is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

- Experience editing Hindi news bulletins and anchor presentations.
- Familiarity with YouTube publishing requirements and social media video formats.
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop or Canva for video thumbnails and supporting graphics.
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple assignments in a newsroom environment.
