Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

- Receive and process FFPE tissue blocks, slides, and tissue sections for molecular testing.
- Maintain proper sample accessioning, traceability, and FFPE sample processing logs.
- Perform FFPE sectioning/cutting as per testing requirements, including preparation of unstained sections and H&E-stained; slides.
- Review H&E; slides for tumor presence, tumor cellularity, necrosis, and tissue adequacy in coordination with the pathologist/authorized personnel.
- Select appropriate tumor-rich areas for molecular testing and perform macrodissection where required.
- Perform DNA and RNA extraction from FFPE tissue using validated extraction protocols.




- Assess extracted DNA/RNA for concentration, purity, quality, and quantity using appropriate QC methods.
- Maintain proper documentation of sample receipt, sectioning, extraction, QC results, and sample disposition.
- Identify and document insufficient tissue, low tumor cellularity, poor nucleic acid quality, and other sample-related QC failures.
- Coordinate with the NGS team for sample suitability, library preparation, and downstream testing.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and tracking of FFPE blocks, slides, extracted DNA/RNA, and residual samples.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, quality-control requirements, biosafety practices, and sample traceability procedures.
- Maintain and update equipment, reagent, extraction, and sample-processing logs as required.
- Troubleshoot issues related to FFPE sectioning, tissue adequacy, DNA/RNA extraction, and QC failures, and escalate when required.
