Job Descripation:
A VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Mastercam Programmer creates 2D and 3D toolpaths using Mastercam software to manufacture precision metal or engineering components on vertical milling machines.

- Position Title: VMC CAM Programmer / Mastercam Programmer / CNC-VMC Programmer
- Typical Education: ITI, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or related manufacturing fields
- Experience Required: Generally 1 to 7+ years of hands-on shop-floor and programming experience (depending on 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis complexity)
- Salary Range (Domestic/India): Varies from roughly ₹2.5 LPA to ₹6+ LPA (or ₹25,000 to ₹50,000+ per month) depending on experience and controller knowledge

Key Responsibilities

- Mastercam Programming: Convert engineering blueprints and CAD models into productive 2D/3D CNC/VMC programs using Mastercam. [1, 2]
- Toolpath & Process Optimization: Develop optimized toolpaths to reduce cycle times, minimize material waste, and lower component rejections.
- Tooling & Fixture Selection: Choose appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, inserts,



and work-holding fixtures based on the raw material (e.g., Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Aluminum, Brass).
- Machine Setup & Prove-out: Support shop-floor operators during initial dry runs, program testing, and first-off part inspections.
- Troubleshooting & Editing: Debug G-code and M-code errors, adjust tool wear/offsets, and modify programs directly on or off the machine.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with quality control (QC) inspectors and production supervisors to maintain dimensional accuracy and revision records.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Software Proficiency: Strong hands-on expertise in Mastercam (creating milling, drilling, and contouring operations); familiarity with CAD tools or DNC software is a plus.
- Controller Knowledge: Working familiarity with standard CNC controllers such as Fanuc and Siemens.
- Machining Knowledge: Deep understanding of speeds, feeds, material properties, and 3-axis / multi-axis milling techniques.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret complex geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;) technical drawings

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
