JOB DESCRIPTION – DRAFTSMAN (ARCHITECTURAL / ID)

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman with experience in architectural and interior design drafting, preferably in the interior fit-out or construction industry. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed architectural layouts, interior design drawings, construction drawings, and joinery details as required. The role also involves converting design concepts into accurate technical drawings, coordinating with design and site teams, incorporating revisions, and ensuring drawings meet project specifications and are ready for approval and execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Prepare detailed architectural layouts, floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction drawings based on design concepts and project requirements.
- Develop interior design drawings for ceilings, flooring, partitions, furniture layouts, wall paneling, and finishes.
- Prepare detailed working drawings and technical drawings for interior fit-out projects.
- Prepare joinery and furniture detailing drawings, including cabinetry, wardrobes, counters, storage units, and other custom-built elements, where required.
- Convert design concepts, sketches, and markups into accurate and detailed technical drawings.
- Coordinate architectural and interior drawings with MEP layouts and other relevant disciplines.
- Incorporate comments and revisions received from architects, interior designers, consultants, clients, and site teams.
- Check dimensions, levels, material specifications, annotations, and drawing references to ensure technical accuracy.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, design standards, and site execution requirements.
- Prepare drawings for client approvals, consultant submissions, fabrication,



and site execution, as applicable.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, submission records, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and execution teams to clarify drawing details and resolve drafting-related issues.
- Review site measurements and incorporate necessary updates into drawings.
- Identify dimensional discrepancies, detailing errors, and coordination issues before drawings are released for execution.
- Ensure the latest approved drawings are shared with the relevant departments and outdated revisions are properly controlled.
- Review drawings prepared by junior draftsmen, where applicable, to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
- Complete assigned drawings and revisions within project schedules and submission deadlines.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing architectural and interior design drawings.
- Valuable knowledge of architectural detailing, interior fit-out drawings, and construction documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, elevations, sections, design layouts, and technical specifications.
- Experience in preparing working drawings, reflected ceiling plans, flooring layouts, partition layouts, and furniture layouts.
- Knowledge of joinery detailing, furniture drawings, material specifications, and fabrication requirements.
- Understanding of dimensions, levels,



tolerances, annotations, and drawing standards.
- Ability to coordinate drawings with MEP layouts and other technical disciplines.
- Familiarity with site execution requirements, material finishes, and interior fit-out processes.
- Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or other relevant design software will be an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawing preparation.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with designers, consultants, and site teams.
- Ability to incorporate revisions, manage multiple drawing tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve drafting and detailing discrepancies.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+years of relevant experience for senior-level candidates or 3–5 years for mid-level candidates in architectural drafting, interior design drafting, or construction documentation.
- Hands-on experience in preparing architectural layouts, interior working drawings, and detailed construction drawings.
- Experience in interior fit-out projects, including commercial offices, retail spaces, hospitality, or other commercial establishments, will be preferred.
- Practical knowledge of joinery detailing, furniture drawings, and interior finishing details.
- Experience coordinating drawings with design teams, consultants, and site execution teams.
- Ability to manage drawing revisions, technical clarifications, and project documentation independently.
- Previous experience reviewing drawings prepared by junior draftsmen will be an added advantage for senior-level candidates.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
