About the Role

Nitwebs is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented QA Engineer with 3 years of experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in testing of web and mobile applications, API testing, database validation, and regression testing.

The candidate should be capable of understanding business requirements, creating comprehensive test scenarios, identifying and tracking defects, and collaborating closely with developers and project managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. Knowledge of automation testing and a proactive approach to improving QA processes will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

· Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to identify test requirements.

· Prepare, review, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test data.

· Perform manual testing of web and mobile applications, including functional, regression, integration, UI, usability, and exploratory testing.

· Conduct cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing to ensure consistent application performance.

· Perform API testing using Postman, including validation of request methods, status codes, response data, headers, and error handling.

· Perform database testing using SQL queries to validate data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.

· Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using JIRA or similar bug-tracking tools.





· Re-test resolved defects and perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains unaffected.

· Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to investigate issues and clarify requirements.

· Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and other Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

· Execute smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing before releases.

· Maintain clear QA documentation, test execution reports, defect reports, and release sign-off documentation.

· Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, test coverage, and overall product quality.

· Contribute to automation testing efforts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, where applicable.

· Support release validation and ensure that deliverables meet defined quality standards.

Requirements

· Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in software testing or quality assurance.

· Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.

· Proven experience in manual testing of web applications; mobile application testing experience is an advantage.

· Good understanding of functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, UI, and exploratory testing.

· Experience writing effective test cases, test scenarios, test plans, and test reports.





· Practical experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.

· Working knowledge of SQL for database validation and data verification.

· Hands-on experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar defect-tracking and test-management tools.

· Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

· Familiarity with browser developer tools and cross-browser testing.

· Basic knowledge or practical exposure to automation testing using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools is preferred.

· Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple testing tasks, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
