We are seeking an experienced and skilled Bar Manager to oversee daily bar operations and lead our hospitality team. The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge of beverage service, bar operations, staff management, inventory control, and customer service, along with a thorough understanding of responsible alcohol service, liquor licensing requirements, and workplace health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and supervise daily bar operations to ensure efficient service and smooth workflow.

2. Oversee the preparation and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to establishment standards.

3. Supervise, train, and coordinate bar staff to maintain high standards of service and professionalism.

4. Prepare staff rosters, allocate duties, and monitor team performance.

5. Monitor beverage stock levels, manage inventory, conduct stocktakes, and coordinate orders with suppliers.

6. Maintain accurate records of stock, sales, wastage, and operational expenses.

8. Handle cash reconciliation, oversee point-of-sale (POS) transactions, and support financial reporting.

9. Ensure compliance with applicable New Zealand liquor licensing laws and responsible alcohol service requirements.

10. Ensure alcohol is not served to minors or intoxicated customers.

11. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the bar, storage areas, and equipment.

12. Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.

13. Assist with beverage menu planning, promotions, and special events.

14. Coordinate with management and other hospitality staff to maintain consistent service quality.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in bar management, bar supervision, or a closely related hospitality role.

2. Strong knowledge of bar operations, beverage service, and customer service standards.

3. Good understanding of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and responsible alcohol service.

4.



Experience in staff supervision, team coordination, and daily operational management.

5. Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, cash handling, and POS systems.

6. Understanding of liquor licensing, workplace health and safety, and hygiene requirements.

7. Ability to manage customer concerns and make sound operational decisions.

8. Strong leadership, communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

9. Reliable, professional, and team-oriented, with the ability to work efficiently in a busy hospitality environment.

10. Relevant qualification in hospitality or bar management preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

Mandatory Experience Verification

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of genuine, relevant, and verifiable work experience in bar management, bar supervision, or a closely related hospitality role.

Candidates must be able to provide supporting employment evidence, including:

1. Payslips covering the relevant employment period.

2. Corresponding bank statements showing salary payments for that period.

3. Employment reference letters or additional employment records, if required for verification.

The year in which the experience was gained is not a deciding factor, provided the candidate can demonstrate at least 2 years of relevant and verifiable experience. All supporting documents must accurately reflect the candidate’s actual employment history.

Pay: ₹2,250,000.00 - ₹3,250,000.00 per year
