Job Summary

Responsible for managing daily plastic injection molding production activities, ensuring achievement of production targets, maintaining product quality, optimizing machine utilization, reducing rejection and cycle time, and ensuring compliance with safety and standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning and Control

- Execute daily production plans as per customer requirements and delivery schedules.
- Monitor hourly, shift-wise, and daily production output.
- Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum manpower and machine utilization.
- Coordinate with planning, quality, maintenance, and material departments.

2. Injection Molding Process

- Monitor injection molding machines, molds, and process parameters.
- Ensure proper setting and monitoring of injection pressure, injection speed, holding pressure, temperature, cooling time, and cycle time.
- Coordinate mold changeovers, machine startups, and shutdowns.
- Ensure correct material loading, drying, mixing, and traceability as applicable.

3. Quality Control

- Monitor and reduce molding defects such as short shots, flash, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, and black spots.
- Ensure first-piece approval and in-process quality inspection.




- Implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring quality issues.
- Maintain compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

4. Productivity and Process Improvement

- Reduce rejection, scrap, downtime, and cycle time.
- Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), productivity, and process performance.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement activities.
- Optimize machine settings without compromising product quality.

5. Manpower and Safety Management

- Allocate operators and helpers according to production requirements.
- Monitor operator performance, discipline, and adherence to work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with machine safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe mold handling practices.
- Provide on-the-job training to production operators.

6. Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain production reports, rejection reports, downtime records, and shift handover reports.
- Monitor production KPIs and prepare daily performance reports.
- Maintain process parameter sheets, startup checklists, and relevant production records.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and quality system requirements.

7. Maintenance and Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with maintenance teams for machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Report mold-related problems and support mold trials and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with quality and stores teams to ensure material availability and product conformity.
