About the role

The firm is hiring a full-time Junior Accountant for its Accounts department in Mangaluru. The role involves day-to-day bookkeeping, preparing records for client filings, and supporting senior staff with accounting and compliance work. The position suits someone with 1-3 years of practical accounting experience.

Key responsibilities

- Record daily accounting entries for assigned clients in accounting software, including sales,purchases, receipts, and payments
- Reconcile bank statements, party ledgers, and other account balances, and flag differences to senior staff
- Prepare data and working papers for GST returns, TDS returns, and other periodic statutory filings
- Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under supervision
- Verify vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain organised physical and digital records of client documents




- Coordinate with clients to collect missing information, documents, and clarifications
- Support audit work by preparing schedules and responding to queries from senior team members
- Follow internal deadlines and checklists for assigned client work

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com)
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a CA firm or similar practice
- Working knowledge of accounting software such as Tally
- Basic understanding of GST, TDS, and income tax procedures
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including formulas, sorting, and filtering
- Good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and Kannada or Hindi; based in or willing to work from Mangaluru
