About Hardab

Hardab is a Swedish company in the mining and rock drilling machinery industry. We design and build rock drilling rigs in Värmland, Sweden, and deliver them to customers worldwide. We are an independent, family-owned company, and we are now building an engineering team in India as a long-term part of our business.

The role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to create and maintain 3D models and manufacturing drawings for welded steel structures and mechanical assemblies. This is a full-time position, approx. 40 hours per week, and fully remote. You work from your own home office with a stable internet connection. You will work directly with the owner of the company and our engineers in Sweden, with no layers of management in between.

Responsibilities

- Create 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings of welded steel structures, frames, brackets and mechanical parts

- Prepare complete drawing packages with BOMs for suppliers who cut, weld and paint

- Update existing designs based on feedback from production and our engineers in Sweden

- Apply GD&T; and welding symbols correctly, following ISO standards

- Work in Onshape (cloud CAD/PDM). Training in Onshape and our design standards is provided





- Follow our document structure and release process, and keep files organized

Requirements

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

- 4+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in heavy machinery, mining, construction equipment or welded steel fabrication

- Strong skills in a 3D CAD system (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Onshape or similar)

- Good knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances and welding drawings

- Good written and spoken English

- Able to work independently and communicate clearly in writing

Nice to have

- Experience from international off-road machinery companies

- Experience with Onshape

- Basic knowledge of hydraulics (cylinders, manifolds)

- Experience working remotely with international teams
