Job Description: Cook – Yogstel Backpacker Hostel

Location: Old Ziro, Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh

Salary: ₹18,000–₹20,000 per month, depending on experience

About Yogstel

Yogstel is a backpacker hostel focused on travel, fitness, community and healthy food. We are looking for a responsible and hardworking cook who can manage daily kitchen operations and prepare tasty, hygienic meals for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks as per the hostel menu.
- Cook basic Indian, North Indian and popular hostel-style dishes.
- Prepare healthy meals, Maggi, sandwiches, tea, coffee and other cafe items.
- Maintain food quality, taste, hygiene and consistency.
- Manage daily kitchen preparation and ensure orders are served on time.
- Monitor stock, minimize food wastage and inform management about grocery requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, utensils and cooking equipment.
- Follow food safety standards and proper food storage practices.




- Take responsibility for daily kitchen operations and coordinate with hostel staff.
- Help maintain a welcoming dining experience for guests.

Requirements

- Previous experience as a cook in a cafe, hostel, restaurant or hotel preferred.
- Ability to prepare basic Indian and North Indian dishes independently.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Responsible, punctual and disciplined.
- Ability to work independently and manage kitchen responsibilities without constant supervision.
- Willingness to work in a hostel environment and coordinate with a small team.
