Vital Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping critically ill patients access essential medical treatment through crowdfunding and public donations. We work with patients and their families who are struggling to afford expensive medical care and connect them with potential donors through fundraising campaigns.

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and responsible Medical Social Worker to identify critically ill patients who require financial assistance for medical treatment. The candidate will coordinate with hospitals, doctors, patients, and their families to identify genuine cases, collect medical documentation, assess financial needs, and facilitate fundraising campaigns through the NGO.

The ideal candidate should have solid communication and networking skills, empathy toward patients, and the ability to work in hospitals and the field.

Key Responsibilities

- Patient Identification: Identify critically ill patients requiring urgent financial assistance for treatments such as cancer, organ transplants, surgeries, neonatal care, and other serious medical conditions.
- Hospital Networking: Build relationships with hospitals, doctors, medical social workers, hospital administrators, and healthcare professionals to source genuine patient cases.
- Patient & Family Coordination: Meet patients and their families, understand their financial difficulties, explain the NGO's crowdfunding support process,



and obtain their consent.
- Medical Documentation: Collect and verify medical reports, prescriptions, hospital estimates, treatment plans, identity documents, and other necessary records.
- Case Assessment: Evaluate the urgency of treatment, estimated medical expenses, family financial circumstances, and eligibility for fundraising assistance.
- Fundraising Coordination: Coordinate with the fundraising and digital marketing teams to prepare patient stories, collect approved photographs and videos, and facilitate the launch of crowdfunding campaigns.
- Follow-up & Case Management: Maintain regular communication with patients, hospitals, and families regarding treatment progress, fundraising requirements, and medical expenses.
- Field Visits: Visit hospitals, medical facilities, and patient residences when required to verify cases and gather relevant information.
- Database & Reporting: Maintain accurate patient records, case updates, documentation, and daily or weekly progress reports.
- Ethical Patient Support: Protect patient confidentiality, obtain informed consent, and ensure all information shared for fundraising is accurate and respectful.

Eligibility Criteria

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW), Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.



Candidates with healthcare or hospital social work experience will be preferred.
- Experience in hospital coordination, patient counselling, NGO operations, healthcare outreach, or community development is an advantage.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships with hospital staff and medical professionals.
- Willingness to travel locally for hospital visits and patient assessments.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Excel, Google Sheets, email, and documentation.
- Fluency in Hindi is essential; working knowledge of English is preferred.
