Job Description – Lab Chemist (Cattle Feed)

Department: Quality Control / Laboratory
Industry: Cattle Feed Manufacturing
Work Schedule: 3-Shift Rotation
Location: Madurai

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct quality tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished cattle feed.

2. Analyse moisture, protein, fat, fibre, ash, calcium, phosphorus, and other nutritional parameters.

3. Check the quality of raw materials such as maize, rice bran, DORB, oil cakes, and other feed ingredients.

4. Ensure finished products meet the company's quality standards and specifications.

5. Collect samples from production at regular intervals and perform laboratory testing.

6. Monitor product quality during all stages of production and report deviations immediately.

7. Maintain laboratory records, test reports, and quality control documentation.

8. Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and cleanliness of laboratory equipment.

9. Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to resolve quality-related issues.





10. Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory.

11. Prepare shift-wise quality reports and communicate important findings during shift handovers.

12. Work in a rotational three-shift system, including day, evening, and night shifts, as per the production schedule.

Qualification

· B.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc. Chemistry / B.Sc. Biochemistry or a relevant qualification.

Experience

1. 1–3 years of experience in laboratory testing or quality control, preferably in cattle feed, animal feed, food processing, or a related manufacturing industry.

2. Freshers with relevant laboratory knowledge may also be considered.

Required Skills

1. Knowledge of chemical analysis and laboratory testing methods.

2. Basic computer skills and report preparation.

3. Attention to detail and accuracy in testing.

4. Positive documentation and communication skills.

5. Willingness to work in a three-shift rotational schedule.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
