The Engineer - PIM delivers and supports Product Information Management (PIM) capabilities within a pod-based engineering model. Product data serves as the foundation for merchandise, marketing, and digital processes across Officeworks, making this role vital in ensuring continuous capability delivery, validation, and production support without handoffs across analysis, build, test, and support phases.

The role takes end-to-end accountability for assigned PIM platform changes. By building, testing, and supporting solution deliverables while developing cross-functional breadth alongside platform depth, the role enables robust product data governance, seamless enterprise integrations, and high-quality software releases.
Essential:

- Education: Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years in enterprise application software development, configuration, and operational support, including 1-2 years hands-on within a PIM or MDM platform (Stibo STEP preferred).
- Programming Skills: Working capability in JavaScript for business rule development, with demonstrated ability to adapt to new programming languages and tools.
- Data Management Concepts: Strong foundational knowledge of PIM/MDM principles, including golden records, taxonomy design,



attribute governance, enrichment, and syndication.
- Integration Skills: Working experience building integrations (APIs, file interfaces, middleware, event-driven flows) connecting PIM platforms to enterprise systems such as SAP ERP, under senior guidance.
- Engineering Practices: Solid understanding of modern software development practices, including version control (Git/GitHub/Azure DevOps), CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and code reviews.
- Continuous Support: Experience in ITIL-aligned incident and problem management, with a track record of driving root-cause remediation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to partner directly with merchandise, marketing, and supply chain stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate outcomes.

Preferred:

- Industry Exposure: Previous engineering exposure within retail, consumer goods, or e-commerce environments handling product master data lifecycles.
- Up-to-date Tooling: Experience utilising AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot), automated test frameworks, and modern integration middleware or API management platforms.
- Professional Certifications: Stibo STEP technical certification, Agile delivery credentials, or ITIL certifications.
