The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.
1. Strategic Engineering Leadership & Multi-Scrum Governance
• Lead, mentor, and manage multiple cross-functional Scrum teams (Software Engineers, Solution Architects, and QA/Automation Engineers) across globally distributed locations.
• Drive end-to-end delivery accountability across concurrent Books of Work (BOW), ensuring explicit milestones, proactive dependency management, and on-time business outcomes.
• Champion engineering excellence, Agile maturity, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) best practices across all pods under management.
• Conduct personnel management responsibilities including technical coaching, talent acquisition, career development,
performance evaluations, and team capacity planning.
2. Hands-On Technical Authority & Solution Architecture
• Serve as the senior technical authority for enterprise-scale distributed systems, validating and steering high-level solution designs and low-level architectural patterns.
• Demonstrate active hands-on technical proficiency in Java 21, Spring Boot 4.x, Cloud-Native Microservices, and distributed persistence/messaging architectures.
• Establish and enforce rigorous coding standards, design patterns, automated test coverage gates, and continuous code quality reviews (SonarQube, Snyk).
• Drive architectural modernization initiatives, transitioning legacy frameworks into modular, scalable, event-driven, and containerized services (Docker, OpenShift/Kubernetes).
3. AI & Agentic Automation Transformation
• Actively drive the adoption of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and intelligent autonomous workflows
