HackerRank helps companies like NVIDIA, Amazon, and Microsoft hire and upskill the next generation of developers based on skills, not pedigree. Our platform is trusted by over 2,500 of the world’s most innovative companies to build strong engineering teams ready for what’s next.
Software has entered an era where humans and AI build side by side. As this shift accelerates, the definition of strong technical talent is changing. We give companies better ways to identify and invest in next-generation skills.
People at HackerRank care deeply about the impact of their work and sweat the small details so our customers can be wildly successful with products they genuinely love to use. We move with urgency and believe great outcomes come from high standards.
About the role
As an Engineering Manager on the Assessment Platform team, you will lead the technical vision and execution for the systems that power the assessments on HackerRank. This includes giving candidates the ability to work on a real world application running on dedicated VMs with an online ADE built by HackerRank.
Doing this for concurrencies of up to 100K candidates is a very interesting technical challenge. You will also partner with product teams across HackerRank to embed these solutions into every product, drive the team's roadmap, and build a high-performing, growth-oriented team that delivers scalable, resilient systems.
What you will do
• Own the vision and roadmap for assessment platform, working closely with Product to shape priorities.
• Architect systems that reliably handle 100k+ concurrent users.
• Own delivery commitments and run the team's day-to-day execution using agile practices.
• Ensure operational excellence: reliability, incident response, security and privacy.
• Hire, mentor and grow engineers, and set transparent career paths for each team member.
• Define how the team uses AI tools in development to improve quality and speed.
• Partner with Product, infrastructure and Security te
