We’re looking for a creative, people-focused Events and Community Builder to help turn our store into a vibrant local hub for tea lovers, artists, and creators.
Role Overview
You’ll design, organize, and host events that celebrate tea culture and build a community around Mittal Teas. You’ll plan the store’s social calendar, from Tea & Poetry evenings to Tea & Pottery workshops, with the goal of increasing foot traffic, brand visibility, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Planning and Execution: Conceptualize, plan, and host recurring in-store events, such as:
- Tea & Poetry evenings
- Tea & Networking mixers
- Tea & Pottery workshops
- Tea-brewing masterclasses
- Seasonal or themed tea tastings and pop-ups
- Community Building: Cultivate an engaged community of regulars, local artists, poets, entrepreneurs, and tea enthusiasts.
- Partnerships and Outreach: Identify and collaborate with local poets, potters, musicians, and small businesses to co-host events and cross-promote audiences.
- Marketing Coordination: Coordinate social media promotion and create content, such as photos and reels, to drive event registrations.
- Logistics Management: Manage event logistics, including scheduling, guest lists and RSVPs, seating and setup, vendor coordination, and budgeting.
- Sales Integration: Connect events with store offerings through tea tastings, loyalty sign-ups, and merchandise promotion to support sales.
- Customer Experience: Ensure events reflect Mittal Teas’ brand voice and provide a warm, memorable guest experience.
- Feedback and Iteration: Collect attendee feedback and track performance, including attendance, sales impact, and repeat visitors, to improve future programming.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in event planning, hospitality, community management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with confidence engaging artists, creatives, and diverse community members.
- Passion for tea culture or willingness to develop tea knowledge.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events and timelines.
- Basic social media and content-creation skills (Instagram, Canva, etc.) are a plus.
- A creative mindset, an eye for aesthetics, and an interest in experience design.
- Comfort with public speaking or hosting small-group events.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends for events.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with local artist and creative communities.
- A background in food and beverage, hospitality, or retail.
- Basic knowledge of tea-brewing techniques.
- Photography or videography skills for event content.
What We Offer
- Creative freedom to build and shape the store’s event culture.
- Employee discounts on tea and merchandise.
- The opportunity to grow into a broader Marketing or Community Lead role as the program scales.
