We're hiring: Naturalist – Bookmark Kanha ?
? Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh | Full time
Bookmark Kanha is reopening this season as a Bookmark Resorts restorative sanctuary on the edge of one of India's finest tiger reserves. We're looking for a Naturalist who sees Kanha as more than a tiger sighting: someone who can help guests slow down, look closer, and leave knowing the forest a little better.
What you'll do
• Lead and accompany jeep safaris into Kanha's core and buffer zones, turning each drive into a story of the landscape, from tiger and leopard to barasingha, gaur and wild dog
• Design and host on-property and near-property experiences, including:
– Dawn birding walks and evening nature trails
– Forest bathing and mindful "slow safari" walks in the buffer zone
– Tracking sessions: pugmarks, scat, alarm calls and signs of the forest
– Butterfly, tree and medicinal-plant trails through sal and bamboo forest
– Stargazing and night-sky sessions
– Gond and Baiga village visits, done respectfully and with the community
– Junior Naturalist programmes for children and families
– Evening fireside talks, wildlife film nights and photography tips
• Brief guests at check-in and build personalised itineraries around their interests, pace and safari permits
• Balance the thrill of the safari with the calm of the stay, matching each guest to the right mix
• Keep sighting logs, species checklists and seasonal updates current for guests and the team
• Champion conservation and responsible tourism, following all forest department rules and park etiquette
• Train resort colleagues on Kanha's ecology so every team member can share the story
• Create content (notes, photographs, sightings) for our guests and social channels
What you bring
• Degree in Zoology, Wildlife Science, Forestry, Botany, Environmental Science or similar (strong field experience will also be considered)
• 2–5 years as a naturalist or wildlife guide, ideally in central Indian forests or a luxury lodge
