Mission of the Role

Develop and commercialize innovative fiber-based and biomaterial solutions for sustainable food packaging by integrating material science, chemistry, and biology to deliver high-performance, food-safe, cost-effective, and scalable alternatives to conventional packaging materials.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research and develop advanced natural fibers, cellulose-based materials, biopolymers, and bio-based composites for sustainable food packaging applications.

2. Investigate material processing, microstructure, morphology, and structure-property relationships to optimize mechanical strength, thermal stability, barrier performance,



and durability.

3. Develop and optimize fiber formulations, bio-based additives, and material processing techniques to enhance product performance, sustainability, and cost competitiveness.

4. Lead laboratory experimentation, prototyping, pilot-scale validation, and industrial scale-up to transform material innovations into commercially viable packaging solutions.

5. Explore additive manufacturing, advanced material processing, and emerging technologies to accelerate material development and improve manufacturing efficiency.

6. Establish material characterization and performance testing protocols, ensuring compliance with food-contact safety, biodegradability, compostability, and applicable regulatory standards.
