Position Summary

The Business Development and Plant Operations Head is a growth-focused executive responsible for driving top-line revenue expansion, capturing market share, and overseeing plant operations to support scalable commercial success. The primary focus of this role is leading territory sales strategies, cultivating high-value client relationships, closing new business, and expanding profit margins, while maintaining oversight of plant P&L;, production readiness, regulatory compliance, and site efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Leadership & Revenue Generation (Primary Focus)

- Territory & Revenue Targets: Lead commercial strategy to generate revenue, expand market share, and consistently meet or exceed territorial sales and profit margin targets.
- Deal Closure & Key Account Management: Personally drive end-to-end client engagementfrom cold prospecting and pitch presentations to contract negotiations and final order closure.
- Pipeline & Venture Evaluation: Identify emerging market trends, assess competitive dynamics, and conduct feasibility studies for recent business ventures and product/service mix expansions.
- Client Relationship Lifecycle: Establish and sustain strong executive-level relationships with prospective and existing clients, delivering exceptional after-sales engagement to drive repeat business and maximize customer lifetime value.

2. Sales Operations, Marketing & Credit Control

- Sales & Marketing Guidance: Direct, mentor, and motivate marketing and sales teams, establishing key performance metrics and instilling a high-performance, target-driven sales culture.
- Credit Control & AR Management: Oversee client receivables,



championing strategies to streamline collections for both current outstanding amounts and long-standing bills to maintain healthy cash flows.
- Reporting & Analytics: Leverage Microsoft Office Suite tools to analyze sales performance metrics, manage revenue forecasting pipelines, and present strategic growth updates to executive leadership.

3. Strategic Plant Operations & P&L; Accountability

- Financial & P&L; Oversight: Prepare and execute annual plant operational budgets, holding ultimate accountability for overall plant P&L; performance and operational cost control.
- Site & Resource Planning: Oversee resource allocation, site scheduling, and workforce management to align plant output directly with sales forecasts and client delivery timelines.
- Quality & Technical Readiness: Ensure continuous operation of plant monitoring and tracking systems (CEMS, CABS, GPS) and oversee the integration of SAP and quality standards (ISO / OSHAS).
- Compliance & External Relations: Maintain compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and environmental requirements, serving as the official liaison to government agencies, financial institutions, and industry bodies.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline (MBA in Marketing/Business Strategy strongly preferred).
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive sales leadership and business development experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a dual operational/commercial management role.
- Sales Excellence: Proven track record of pipeline development, high-value B2B contract negotiations, client acquisition, and meeting aggressive revenue goals.
- Operational Acumen: Functional understanding of plant management, P&L; execution, SAP systems, ISO/OSHAS compliance, and operational monitoring tech (CEMS, CABS, GPS).
- Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) for sales forecasting, pipeline management, and executive presentations.
