We are looking for a skilled and dedicated VMC Operator to operate and maintain Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines for precision component manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of engineering drawings, machining operations, and quality inspection.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate VMC machines to manufacture precision components as per specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Set up machines, load tools, and set workpieces as per production requirements.
- Understand machining parameters, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
- Perform routine machine inspections and basic maintenance.
- Check component dimensions using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
- Maintain quality standards and achieve daily production targets.
- Identify machining defects and report machine or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
Required Skills
- Experience operating VMC machines in a manufacturing workplace.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and machining processes.
- Basic knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc or Siemens is preferred.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and quality inspection.
- Ability to perform machine setting, tool changing, and offset adjustments.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any relevant technical trade.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience as a VMC Operator.
- Candidates with relevant hands-on experience in CNC/VMC machining are preferred.
