Our client is one of India’s leading, award-winning PR and communications consultancies. It is affiliated with a global communications and public affairs consulting group headquartered in Milan, with a presence across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. The firm works from offices in India’s major metros and has a delivery network covering more than 30 cities. It is known for strategic, results-driven communication for leading Indian and multinational brands.

As its clients face an increasingly complex policy and regulatory workplace, the firm is expanding its Public Policy & Government Affairs practice. It is looking for a senior leader to build and lead it.

The Role

As VP – Public Policy & Government Affairs, you will be the firm’s lead on government engagement. You will advise leading Indian and multinational clients on policy, regulation and stakeholder strategy, and open doors for them across central and state government. You’ll work closely with the communications, media and corporate reputation teams to deliver integrated public affairs campaigns.

What You’ll Do

- Lead government liaison for clients: build and use relationships with central ministries, departments, regulators and state governments.
- Secure and manage meetings with senior officials, policymakers, Members of Parliament and key decision-makers.
- Track legislative, regulatory and policy developments, and turn them into clear risks and opportunities for clients.
- Design and run advocacy strategies, including representations, policy submissions, white papers and consultation responses.




- Build relationships with industry chambers (FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM and others), think tanks and trade associations.
- Plan and run policy roundtables, conferences and stakeholder events.
- Advise CXOs and leadership teams on policy positioning and reputation in the political and regulatory landscape.
- Integrate government affairs with media, digital and corporate communications for 360° public affairs campaigns.
- Grow the practice: win new business, write proposals and pitches, and expand client relationships.

What We’re Looking For

- 10–15 years of experience in government relations, public policy, public affairs or regulatory affairs.
- A strong, active network across Union ministries, government departments, regulators and state governments, with a proven record of reaching and engaging senior officials.
- Experience at an industry chamber (FICCI, CII or ASSOCHAM), a policy consultancy, a public affairs or PR firm, or a corporate GR function.
- A sound understanding of how government, the legislature and the policy-making process work in India.
- Excellent written skills for policy briefs, representations and position papers, and confident presentation skills.
