: Trainee Quality Engineer – Sheet Metal & Tube Manufacturing

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Experience: Fresher to 1 year

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Job Responsibilities

- Perform daily incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections of sheet metal and tube components.
- Inspect sheet metal parts for dimensions, hole positions, flatness, bending accuracy, and visual defects.
- Inspect tube components for length, diameter, wall thickness, bending angle, ovality, and weld quality, as applicable.
- Check components against engineering drawings, specifications, and approved samples.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier callipers, micrometres, height gauges, bore gauges, and measuring tapes.
- Monitor manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, tube cutting, and tube bending.
- Identify and report defects such as burrs, dents, scratches, cracks, dimensional deviations, weld defects, and surface finish issues.
- Maintain daily inspection reports, rejection reports, non-conformance records, and quality check sheets.
- Coordinate with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent defect recurrence.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions,



and rejection reduction activities.
- Assist in maintaining calibration records and traceability of measuring instruments.
- Follow quality procedures and documentation requirements as per IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.

Required Knowledge

- Basic understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and GD&T; fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and tube manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of 7 QC tools, 5 Why analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Basic awareness of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans.
- Basic computer skills, especially MS Excel and preparation of quality reports.

Educational Qualification Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

Candidate Profile The candidate should be willing to work on the shop floor, conduct daily quality inspections, maintain documentation, and coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure product conformity and customer satisfaction.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
