About the Role

Roofsol Energy Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager - BESS to oversee technical services, system integration, performance monitoring, and lifecycle support of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) integrated with solar energy projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in battery storage technologies, electrical systems, troubleshooting, commissioning, and operations, along with the ability to coordinate with project teams, OEMs, vendors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

· Technical Management: Lead technical services for BESS solutions integrated with solar PV projects, ensuring system reliability, safety, and optimal performance.

· BESS System Integration: Oversee technical evaluation and integration of battery systems with solar PV, inverters, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Battery Management Systems (BMS).

· Design & Engineering: Review technical specifications, system sizing, battery capacity calculations, single-line diagrams, equipment selection, and system architecture.

· Installation & Commissioning: Provide technical guidance during installation, testing, commissioning, and integration of BESS systems with existing or new solar projects.

· Operations & Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans,



monitor system performance, and ensure equipment availability and reliability.

· Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to batteries, BMS, PCS, EMS, inverters, control systems, and electrical interfaces.

· OEM & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with battery manufacturers, technology providers, EPC contractors, and service partners for technical support, warranty claims, and resolution of equipment-related issues.

· Performance Monitoring: Analyze battery performance, State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), energy efficiency, degradation, availability, and system operating data.

· Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, battery safety protocols, applicable fire protection requirements, and relevant statutory and technical standards.

· Technical Documentation: Maintain technical reports, commissioning records, O&M; manuals, troubleshooting logs, warranty documentation, and service-level performance reports.

· Customer & Project Coordination: Work closely with project execution, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure smooth technical handover and post-commissioning support.

· Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reduce downtime,



optimize lifecycle costs, and enhance BESS operational efficiency.

Educational Qualification

· B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.

· Relevant technical certifications or specialized training in BESS, battery technologies, or energy storage systems will be an added advantage.

Required Skills & Experience

· 10–15 years of overall experience in electrical engineering, renewable energy, power systems, technical services, or related fields.

· Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), preferably integrated with solar PV projects.

· Robust understanding of lithium-ion battery technologies, BMS, PCS, EMS, battery inverters, and energy storage system architecture.

· Experience in BESS commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, performance analysis, and technical service management.

· Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, grid integration, power conversion, protection systems, and energy management.

· Familiarity with battery safety, thermal management, fire protection, and applicable industry standards.

· Strong coordination, problem-solving, vendor management, and technical reporting skills.

· Ability to manage multiple technical activities and provide support to project and operations teams.
