About OLFC N°011
OLFC N°011 is a niche luxury fragrance and olfactive research house based in Hyderabad. We compose, blend and bottle extrait de parfum and perfume oils in small, numbered, limited editions.
We are setting up our own fragrance manufacturing unit in Manikonda, Hyderabad. You will be the first technical hire on the floor and the person whose name stands behind our cosmetic manufacturing licence.
The role
We are hiring one whole-time Competent Technical Person to run production and quality at the Manikonda unit, under the Cosmetics Rules, 2020. A perfumery background is welcome but not required; cosmetics, pharma or chemistry manufacturing experience is what matters. The work is small-batch and hands-on: you will weigh, blend, macerate, filter, fill and release every batch yourself, and keep the records an inspector will read. With guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production
- Supervise and personally carry out every manufacturing step: dispensing, weighing, compounding, dilution in ethanol or carrier oil, maceration, chilling, filtration, filling, capping and coding.
- Follow the Master Formula for each composition exactly and keep weighing and dispensing accurate to the balance's resolution.
- Write and maintain the Batch Manufacturing Record for every batch, as required by the Eighth Schedule of the Cosmetics Rules, 2020.
- Run line clearance, cleaning and changeover between compositions so no batch carries over into the next.
Quality
- Sample and check incoming raw materials (essential oils, aroma chemicals, absolutes, ethanol, carrier oils) against supplier CoAs and our specifications.
- Test each finished batch for appearance, colour, clarity, odour against standard, relative density, refractive index and alcohol content.
- Coordinate any testing we outsource with an approved, NABL-accredited cosmetic testing laboratory, and file the reports.
- Release or reject batches,
and keep retention samples and test registers for at least three years.
- Maintain stability and compatibility observations on our glass, pumps and caps.
Compliance and documentation
- Help prepare the cosmetic manufacturing licence application (Form COS-5) and the GMP self-declaration (Form COS-7), and be present for the Drugs Control Administration inspection.
- Write and maintain SOPs: receipt, storage, dispensing, manufacturing, cleaning, sampling, testing, release, labelling, complaints and recall.
- Keep equipment calibration and maintenance logs (balances, hydrometer or density meter, refractometer).
- Check every label for batch number, manufacturing licence number, expiry, manufacturer address and, where required, the ingredient list.
- Maintain stock registers for ethanol and denatured spirit as required by excise, and enforce safe handling of flammable liquids.
- Keep IFRA certificates, SDS and allergen data for each raw material, ready for export documentation.
Mandatory qualification
You must hold at least one of the qualifications that Rule 26(a) of the Cosmetics Rules, 2020 accepts for competent technical staff:
- Diploma in Pharmacy approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, or
- Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, or
- Intermediate (Class 12) pass with Chemistry as a subject, or an equivalent recognised by the Licensing Authority, or
- Bachelor's degree in Cosmetic Technology from a recognised university.
We prefer a B.Sc. in Chemistry, B.Pharm, M.Sc. Chemistry,
or B.Tech/B.Sc. in Cosmetic Technology. You must be willing to sign a full time employment consent letter and affidavit for submission to the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL
We look for
- 2–5 years in a licensed cosmetics, personal care or pharmaceutical manufacturing unit, in production, QC or both.
- Hands-on batch documentation under GMP: BMRs, SOPs, line clearance, deviation and release records.
- Basic QC testing: density, refractive index, pH, viscosity, organoleptic checks, and reading supplier CoAs.
- Safe handling of flammable solvents and alcohol in a production setting.
- Prior approval as competent technical staff on a Drugs Control Administration licence, or a strong understanding of that process.
- Careful, precise work at small scale: you are comfortable weighing to two decimal places and doing it again for every batch.
- Clear written English; Telugu or Hindi helps with suppliers and inspectors.
A plus, not required
- Experience with fragrance, perfume or essential-oil products.
- Familiarity with IFRA standards, allergen labelling, or export documentation for the EU or US.
- Working knowledge of GC or GC-MS reports.
- A trained nose, or curiosity to develop one.
Terms and how to apply
- Compensation: to be discussed based on qualification and experience.
- Full-time, on-site at Manikonda, six days a week with production-led hours.
- You will be named on our manufacturing licence, so we ask for a notice period of at least [60] days.
To apply, send your CV, copies of your qualification certificates, and a short note on the most precise batch work you have done to [
[email protected] / Whatsapp +91 (phone hidden)]. If you have been approved as competent technical staff before, include the licence number and the approving authority.
