We are Hiring - Subject Matter Specialist (SMS)

Action for Social Advancement (ASA) is a national-level development organization headquartered in Bhopal, working since 1996 for improving livelihoods of rural poor communities across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra and Gujarat. ASA works with small and marginal farmers, tribal communities and women through programmes in natural resource management, agriculture development, livelihoods promotion and institution building. The proposed position draws from ASAs existing leadership and training structures.

Key responsibilities:

The SMS will lead the Sustainable Agriculture (including Organic and RCI) initiatives in the assigned ASA Programme region and oversee the following responsibilities with the team of Agronomists at the FCO and team level:

- Oversee capacity building program for Team of Agronomists at FCO Team level and Lead Farmers.
- Lead Demonstration Programs (PVSP, FLD, Kheti-Badi Kendra - KBK) across the assigned area.
- Design,



develop, execute, and evaluate sustainable agriculture extension programs around KBK in project clusters.
- Plan and coordinate with the Certification Team for agriculture programs under various standards (Organic, RCI, GAP, IPM/ NPM).
- Ensure monitoring and reporting of program data through MIS.
- Share Holder mobilization on valuable agriculture practices.
- Timely documentation and reporting as per the requirement of the theme/Projects.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders including Govt. Depts. and others to build partnerships and promote collaborative initiatives.

Required Qualification & Experience:

- Educational Qualification: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Agriculture from a recognized university/institution
- Minimum 4 years of experience in relevant field.
- Preferably from the NGO/Agriculture
