The Role

We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to own our Python API, Postgres data layer, and async job and LLM pipelines.

You'll own large parts of our backend: a Python service that runs brand-visibility experiments across OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and xAI, then generates and scores content from the results. Experiments are one part of a platform that takes brands from measurement to action:

- Experiments and analytics: run visibility and sentiment experiments across many LLMs at once and track how results change over time
- Reporting: bring Search Console, Google Analytics, and first-touch survey data into one view
- Content: generate, optimize, and publish content built for AI search,



straight to Webflow and WordPress
- Outreach: turn the sources AI models cite into listicle outreach campaigns
- Intelligence: AI-generated insights, prioritized action items, and social listening signals The work is mostly about data and concurrency. This is not a Big Tech job: you'll ship weekly, work directly with the founders, and decide how things get built.

What You'll Do

- Design and evolve our Postgres data model and keep queries fast as data grows
- Build async APIs and services in Python
- Own background jobs that fan out work across model providers and third-party APIs
- Extend our LLM pipelines, mixing model calls with deterministic code
- Build reliable integrations with auth, billing, search, and CMS platforms

Who You Are (Must Have Requirements)

- 5+ years building production backends, with Python as your primary language
- Deep PostgreSQL experience: schema design, indexing, query tuning, and migrations
- Real async Python experience, including debugging the hard failures (blocked event loops, pool exhaustion, race conditions)
- Experience calling external APIs reliably: timeouts, retries, rate limits, and webhooks
- Self-directed and comfortable owning features end to end

Nice to Haves

- Built a multi-step pipeline or agent workflow that mixes LLM calls with plain code
- Hands-on with LLM APIs and structured outputs
- pgvector or other vector search in production
- Strong GitHub contributions or side projects you can show us
