JD for Power BI Developer:

Builds the reporting layer for sales, distribution and performance data on Snowflake, from semantic model through to published apps.

What you'll do:

 Design star-schema semantic models in Power BI over curated Snowflake Gold tables built in dbt.

 Choose the right storage mode for each dataset — import, Direct Query, or composite with aggregations — balancing freshness, performance and Snowflake compute cost.

 Write and optimize DAX for sales, flows, AUM, and advisor and territory metrics,

including time intelligence over effective-dated hierarchies.

 Implement row-level security by business line, mapped to Entra ID groups.

 Rebuild existing sales reports so figures reconcile to source, working with data engineers to trace and fix discrepancies.

 Manage workspaces, apps, deployment pipelines and Git integration across dev,

test and prod.

 Tune model and report performance with tools such as DAX Studio and Tabular

Editor.

 Gather requirements directly with sales, distribution and finance stakeholders, and document a definition for every metric.

Must have

 5+ years building Power BI solutions in production.

 Strong DAX and Power Query, and dimensional modelling, including slowly changing dimensions.

 Power BI on Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse, including the trade-offs of Direct Query.

 Row-level security and Power BI Service administration: workspaces, apps,

gateways and capacity.

 Strong SQL.

 Explicit communication with business stakeholders.

Nice to have:

 Asset management or wealth reporting: AUM, flows, advisor and channel analytics.

 Microsoft Fabric.

 Power BI Git integration (PBIP), deployment pipelines, Tabular Editor or ALM

Toolkit.

 dbt models as a reporting source.

 Dynamics 365 CE data.
