Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Merchandiser to lead national fashion buying, merchandise planning, designer partnerships, and inventory optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Indian luxury fashion, commercial buying, and multi-location retail merchandising.

Key Responsibilities

- Fashion Buying: Develop and execute seasonal buying strategies aligned with business goals and customer preferences.
- Designer Management: Build relationships with established and emerging Indian designers and negotiate commercial terms.
- Assortment Planning: Curate designer collections based on fashion trends, customer demand, and commercial viability.
- Inventory Management: Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB), stock allocation, sell-through, and ageing inventory across locations.
- Sales & Analysis: Monitor designer-wise sales, margins, inventory productivity, and merchandise performance.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Finance, and Retail Operations.
- Market Research: Track fashion trends, emerging designers, competitor activity, and consumer preferences.
- National Travel: Visit retail locations to review merchandise performance and identify market-specific requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

- 7–12 years in fashion buying,



retail merchandising, or merchandise planning.
- Experience in luxury or premium fashion retail.
- Strong understanding of Indian designer fashion and luxury customers.
- Proven experience in designer relationship management and commercial negotiations.
- Experience handling multi-location retail merchandising is preferred.

Skills

- Expertise in fashion buying, assortment planning, and inventory management.
- Robust knowledge of OTB, sell-through, margins, and merchandise performance.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and retail ERP or merchandise management systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Education

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Management, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Ideal Candidate A commercially driven fashion professional with established designer relationships, a strong understanding of luxury retail, and the ability to balance creative curation with profitability. The candidate must be willing to travel nationally.
