Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Golang or Node.js/TypeScript to design, develop, deploy and maintain secure, scalable, high-performance backend services and cloud-native applications.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in microservices, distributed systems, API development, event-driven architecture, databases, application security, performance optimisation and production support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable backend services using Golang or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Build and maintain REST APIs, gRPC services, GraphQL integrations and event-driven applications.
- Design and implement microservices, distributed systems and service-to-service integrations.
- Integrate relational and NoSQL databases, caching solutions, message brokers and external systems.
- Implement authentication, authorisation, API security and secrets management.
- Implement structured logging, monitoring, metrics, distributed tracing and alerting.
- Optimise application performance, latency, throughput, memory usage and database queries.
- Develop automated unit, integration, contract and performance tests.
- Build containerised applications and support CI/CD deployments using Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, incident management and root-cause analysis.




- Mentor developers and maintain technical documentation and engineering best practices.

Mandatory Technical SkillsBackend Development

- Strong hands-on experience in Golang or Node.js with TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Golang: concurrency, goroutines, channels, error handling and Go testing.
- Node.js: asynchronous programming, event loop, promises, streams and error handling.
- Node.js frameworks: NestJS and/or Express.js.

APIs & Architecture

- REST APIs, HTTP/JSON, gRPC, Protocol Buffers and GraphQL integration.
- Microservices architecture, distributed systems and event-driven design.
- API versioning, validation, retries, idempotency and resilience patterns.

Databases & Messaging

- SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server.
- NoSQL databases and caching technologies such as MongoDB and Redis.
- Messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus or equivalent.

Cloud-Native & DevOps

- Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift and Helm.
- CI/CD pipelines, Git and automated deployment practices.
- AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud experience is advantageous.

Security, Testing & Observability

- OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, TLS/mTLS, RBAC and secure coding practices.
- Automated testing,



integration testing and performance testing.
- Structured logging, monitoring and distributed tracing using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana or equivalent.
- Performance profiling, debugging and production issue resolution.

Experience & Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial recent hands-on experience in Golang or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Proven experience delivering production-grade backend applications, APIs and microservices.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, distributed systems and cloud-native architecture.
- Experience across the full software lifecycle, including development, deployment, monitoring and production support.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration and technical mentoring skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Skills
- Event-driven architecture, CQRS, saga patterns and distributed caching.
- Cloud-native platforms, service mesh, API gateways and infrastructure as code.
- Linux, TCP/IP, HTTP/2, networking and zero-downtime deployments.
- Experience integrating backend services with Java, .NET or legacy systems.
- Telecommunications, banking, fintech, payments or other high-volume enterprise experience.

Important: Candidates must have robust hands-on expertise in at least one primary language: Golang or Node.js/TypeScript. Both languages are not mandatory unless specified by the client.
