Safety Officer / Safety Engineer A Safety Officer / Safety Engineer is responsible for maintaining a protected working environment at construction sites by identifying hazards, assessing risks, implementing safety procedures, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Key Responsibilities – Short Notes

- Maintain safe working conditions at the construction site.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections.
- Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by all workers.
- Stop unsafe work immediately and take corrective action.
- Conduct toolbox talks (TBT) and safety awareness training.
- Monitor safety during excavation, shuttering, concreting, and work at height.
- Inspect scaffolding, ladders, lifting operations, and electrical installations.
- Ensure compliance with the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
- Monitor hot work activities, including welding and cutting.
- Ensure confined space entry procedures are followed.
- Maintain good housekeeping, barricading, and warning signs.
- Implement emergency response procedures and coordinate first aid.
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Maintain safety documents, inspection checklists, and records.




- Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Ensure workers follow approved Method Statements and safety procedures.
- Monitor fire prevention measures and emergency equipment.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a positive safety culture at the workplace.
