We are seeking a compassionate, qualified, and motivated Residential Psychologist to join our team at Khalapur, Maharashtra. The ideal candidate should have a robust understanding of psychological principles, counselling techniques, behavioural interventions, and mental health support, preferably with experience in addiction recovery or residential rehabilitation.

Job Summary The Residential Psychologist will be responsible for providing psychological assessments, individual counselling, group therapy, behavioural support, and psychoeducation to residents. The role involves working closely with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop individualised treatment plans, monitor residents progress, and support their emotional, psychological, and behavioural development throughout their recovery journey.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Psychological Assessment and Treatment Planning

- Conduct initial psychological assessments and evaluate residents emotional, cognitive, and behavioural needs.
- Obtain relevant case histories and identify psychological concerns requiring intervention.
- Develop individualised treatment plans in coordination with the clinical and rehabilitation team.
- Review treatment goals periodically and modify interventions based on residents progress.

2. Individual Counselling and Therapy

- Conduct individual counselling sessions to address emotional distress, behavioural concerns, interpersonal difficulties, and adjustment issues.
- Apply appropriate evidence-based therapeutic approaches within the scope of professional competence.
- Support residents in developing coping mechanisms, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and healthy decision-making skills.
- Assist residents in building motivation, confidence,



and personal responsibility during recovery.

3. Group Therapy and Psychoeducation

- Plan and facilitate structured group therapy sessions and therapeutic activities.
- Conduct psychoeducation sessions on mental health, addiction, stress management, emotional well-being, and relapse prevention.
- Encourage healthy communication, peer support, and constructive social interaction among residents.
- Promote self-reflection, accountability, and positive behavioural changes.

4. Addiction Recovery and Relapse Prevention

- Support residents dealing with substance use disorders and associated psychological challenges.
- Identify emotional and behavioural triggers that may contribute to relapse.
- Help residents develop personalised relapse-prevention and recovery-maintenance strategies.
- Coordinate with the clinical team to address co-occurring psychological concerns and facilitate appropriate referrals when required.

5. Resident Monitoring and Documentation

- Monitor residents’ psychological well-being, behavioural patterns, participation, and treatment progress.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date clinical records, case notes, assessment reports, and session documentation.
- Prepare periodic progress reports and communicate relevant observations to the authorised treatment team.
- Identify warning signs of psychological deterioration or crisis and initiate appropriate escalation procedures.

6. Family Counselling and Support

- Conduct family counselling and psychoeducation sessions, where appropriate and with suitable consent.
- Help families understand mental health concerns, addiction recovery, communication patterns, and relapse prevention.
- Support healthy family relationships and prepare residents and families for reintegration into their home and community environments.

7. Team Coordination and Residential Care

- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, treatment reviews, and rehabilitation planning.




- Coordinate with residential staff to maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold residents’ dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Follow organisational protocols for safeguarding, emergencies, referrals, and incident reporting.

Educational Qualifications

- Preferred Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related discipline from a recognised university.
- Candidates with relevant experience in mental health, de-addiction, rehabilitation, counselling, or residential care will be preferred.
- Additional training or certifications in counselling, CBT, motivational interviewing, or addiction recovery will be an advantage.
