Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to manage and oversee the companys procurement activities for solar projects and manufacturing operations. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring timely procurement, and controlling purchase costs while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the complete purchase and procurement process from requirement to delivery.
- Source and evaluate reliable suppliers and vendors for solar and manufacturing materials.
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and maintain proper purchase documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, Project, Stores, Accounts, and Engineering teams to understand material requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing and solar project execution.
- Purchase materials such as:
- Solar module-related materials
- Mounting structures and fabrication materials
- MS/GI/Aluminium materials
- Electrical components
- ACDB / DCDB components
- Cables, wires, connectors and accessories
- Inverters and related equipment
- Fasteners and hardware
- Consumables and tools
- General engineering and factory requirements




- Develop and maintain a strong vendor database and identify new suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with the Stores team for GRN, material receipt, inspection, and stock requirements.
- Follow up with suppliers for pending orders and ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain purchase records, quotation comparisons, vendor details, and order status.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and procurement optimization.
- Handle urgent and project-specific procurement requirements.
- Ensure purchases comply with company policies and approval procedures.
- Resolve issues related to quality, quantity, delivery, and vendor payments in coordination with concerned departments.
- Prepare regular purchase reports, pending PO reports, vendor performance reports, and cost analysis for management.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of procurement and vendor management.
- Valuable negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of solar industry and electrical/mechanical materials.
- Good understanding of fabrication and manufacturing materials.
- Ability to compare quotations and conduct commercial negotiations.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/Purchase software.
- Ability to manage multiple purchase requirements simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and cost-control skills.
