Role Description The Proposal Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for developing competitive and technically sound proposals for EPCC projects in the petroleum, oil & gas, offshore–onshore, and marine sectors. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing tender documents, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and sales teams, and preparing detailed technical and commercial proposals in line with client requirements and industry standards. The role involves estimating project costs, preparing bills of quantities, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, quality, and HSE guidelines.

The Proposal





Engineer will regularly interact with vendors and internal stakeholders to gather technical and pricing information, support negotiations, and update proposal documentation and databases. The position also includes contributing to continuous improvement in proposal processes, maintaining strong client focus, and supporting management with reports, presentations, and bid follow-up activities.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust Proposal Preparation and Proposal Writing skills, including experience interpreting tender documents and assembling complete technical and commercial submissions.
- Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering knowledge, with the ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications, and EPCC project requirements in relevant industrial sectors.
- Candidates should possess Sales-related skills, such as client communication, understanding customer needs, and supporting the business development team in bid strategy and follow-up.
- Candidates should possess Procurement-related skills, including vendor coordination, obtaining quotations, and assisting in cost estimation and resource planning.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Beneficial skills include familiarity with EPCC project workflows, basic project management, cost estimation tools, and MS Office (especially Excel and Word).
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication in English are required, along with the capacity to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
