Job Summary

We are looking for a Production Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and working knowledge of Oracle Database. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring database environments, resolving production issues, maintaining database performance, and ensuring system availability and reliability.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, production support experience, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide production support and administration for PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
- Monitor database performance, availability, and overall health.
- Investigate and resolve database-related incidents within defined SLA timelines.
- Perform routine database maintenance, backup, recovery, and housekeeping activities.
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for production incidents.
- Work closely with application, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to resolve technical issues.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain database stability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- BE/B.Tech in Computer Science,



Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in production support or database administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Database.
- Experience in production troubleshooting and incident management.
- Valuable understanding of database performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Shell or Python.
- Understanding of ITIL processes.

Preferred Skills
- Exposure to AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Oracle Cloud.
- Knowledge of database monitoring tools.
- Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
- Experience in performance optimization and preventive maintenance.

Candidate Requirements
- Must be willing to work from Chennai.
- Candidates with a notice period of 30 days or less are preferred.
- Compensation will be discussed based on relevant experience and suitability.
