About the Role

We are looking for a Procurement Manager – Plant & Machinery who will manage the purchase of machinery, equipment, spares and other materials required for our

Biogas/CBG plant.

The person will be responsible for finding the right vendors, negotiating prices, ensuring timely delivery and controlling procurement costs.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for procurement and contract management of EPC (Engineering,

Procurement, and Construction) and O&M; (Operations and Maintenance)

contracts, including vendor evaluation, commercial negotiations, and ensuring cost-effective contract execution.

- Manage purchase of plant machinery, equipment, spares, electrical items,

instrumentation, pumps, compressors, valves, pipelines and other engineering items.
- Handle CAPEX and OPEX procurement for the plant.
- Identify new vendors and maintain good relationships with existing suppliers.
- Get quotations, compare prices and negotiate the best commercial terms.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery timelines, warranty and other commercial terms.
- Develop alternate vendors to ensure there is no dependency on a single supplier.
- Work with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Stores and Finance teams to understand requirements.




- Ensure critical materials and equipment are delivered on time as per plant requirements.
- Track purchase orders and follow up with vendors for timely delivery.
- Check vendor performance based on price, quality and delivery.
- Identify opportunities to reduce procurement and operating costs.
- Maintain vendor records, quotations, comparison sheets, purchase orders and other procurement documents.
- Ensure all purchases are within the approved budget and company procurement process.

Candidate Profile

- Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, management or a related field.
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, especially in industrial plants,

engineering, CAPEX, and OPEX management.
- Experience in Biogas, CBG, Manufacturing, Fertilizer, Waste Management,

Renewable Energy or similar industries will be preferred.
- Valuable experience in machinery, equipment, spares, electrical and instrumentation procurement.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/procurement software.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

Key Objective To ensure that the plant gets the right machinery, equipment and materials at the right price and at the right time, while reducing procurement costs and building a strong vendor network.
