Job Title: Plant Head

Job Summary: The Plant Head is responsible for providing overall leadership to the manufacturing and operations functions of the organisation. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient, economical and disciplined operations, achievement of production and delivery commitments, optimum utilisation of manpower, material and machines, improvement in productivity and quality, reduction of wastage and operating costs, and development of robust systems and processes.

The Plant

Head will work closely with senior leadership and various functional heads to ensure that the organisation's operational capabilities support its business objectives and future growth.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee overall manufacturing and operations activities and ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day functioning of the factory.

Translate business and sales requirements into practical production and operational plans. Ensure achievement of production, productivity, quality, cost and delivery targets.

Supervise and work closely with Production, PPC, Maintenance, Quality, Purchase, Stores and other relevant functions for smooth execution.



Ensure effective production planning and scheduling based on sales requirements and customer commitments.

Optimise utilisation of manpower, machines, materials and infrastructure. Identify operational bottlenecks and drive timely corrective and preventive actions.

Strengthen systems, SOPs, processes and operational discipline across the organisation. Drive implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.

Focus on reduction of wastage, rejection, downtime, rework and operational costs. Work with the Maintenance team to improve machine availability, preventive maintenance and reduction of breakdowns.

Strengthen manpower planning, deployment, accountability and productivity across operations. Develop a culture of safety, discipline, ownership, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Monitor key operational KPIs and establish effective review and follow-up mechanisms. Analyse operational data and identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvement.

Ensure adherence to quality standards, SOPs, safety requirements and statutory requirements applicable to operations. Identify skill gaps and work with HR and functional heads on recruitment, training and development of operations personnel.

Lead operational improvement and system-building projects required for the organisation's growth.

Qualification: Education: Bachelor's degree in Production / Industrial / Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:



Minimum 15 - 20 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in capacitor or electrical / electronic / mechanical components manufacturing and mass manufacturing environments.

Skills & Competencies: Strong overall operations and manufacturing leadership capability Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and systems Solid analytical and problem-solving ability

Ability to identify root causes and drive sustainable corrective actions Good understanding and practical implementation capability of Lean Manufacturing / 5S / Kaizen

Strong knowledge of productivity improvement and cost optimisation Ability to manage and develop teams and build accountability

Strong cross-functional coordination and communication skills Ability to establish systems, processes and performance review mechanisms

Good proficiency in English, Hindi & Marathi Basic computer and MIS skills

Ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment Hands-on, practical, execution-focused, calm under pressure, disciplined in followup and capable of building team accountability.
